Where To Dispose of Hazardous Materials

Hazardous MaterialsJuNKiT staff are experts at furniture removal, appliance removal, carpet removal, construction material removal and many other types of junk removal.  However, as we are licensed by the Ministry of Environment, we are not able to dispose of hazardous materials.

Hazardous waste is anything that can cause damage or potential threat to public health or the environment.  This includes paint and other solvents, motor oil and antifreeze, florescent lighting, propane tanks, pesticides, smoke detectors and some types of batteries.  These items are considered household hazardous waste.  They must be disposed of in a proper manner.  They will not be collected with your standard garbage and cannot be disposed of by most junk removal companies, including JuNKiT.

So how do you safely dispose of hazardous materials?

Used motor oil can be taken to a used oil drop off centre in your area.  Other household hazardous materials can be taken to disposal centres.
